Katsoja 2
I feel like a lot of my hobbies have to do with consumption. I read books, watch movies, read comics, etc; basically appreciating anything that someone else has created. What are hobbies that I could do that could show off my artistic side? I'm shite at drawing and painting
zsh 27
Honestly, and I'm not sure if it's something you'd want to hear, but I don't recommend anyone force artistic expression if it isn't innate. I'm a firm believer in "if you weren't born with it, it's not for you". You can learn how to program or fix a car, but learning the technical aspects and rules of photography(for example) doesn't make for a good photographer if you aren't artistically talented innately. However with that said, there are/were many popular contemporary artists who had zero talent but were able to be successful in their artistic fields due to well thought out expression rather than artistic talent.
Esme. 3
I think we should open this topic once more, I don't think it's anything bout forcing, but allowing yourself to enjoy something for the sake of doing it rather than being good at it. Quote Feel like every chance to leave is another chance I should have took Every minute is a mile. I've never felt so hollow I'm an old abandoned church with broken pews and empty aisles My secrets for a buck, Watch me as I cut myself wide open on this stage Yes, I am paid to spill my guts I won't see home till spring, oh, I would kill for the Atlantic But I am paid to make girls panic while I sing.
